August 2nd

August 2nd

Before we leave Bombay  I get pictures of all the bottom creatures that are on the rocks near where we are anchored.

We are relunctant to leave as if is great spot and the fishing is good, but it’s time to move on.

We head out Cultus in the late afternoon and are in the Pacific for a short while before we sneak into the Spider Group and stop for a short time to replace the batteries on our Logtech (pointing at the computer device).  We thouht about going through Spitfire Pass (it is hightide), but hesitated cause if we went aground there was no help nearby.  Not true!  As we round the corner to one of the marked anchorages there are seven boats there.  The Spider has been invaded!!

Well we don’t anchor there, but choose a smaller bay just outside. It’s a tight spot with a nice reef at the entrance but just right for us. Rained hard the first night.

All the other anchored boats have left  this and we have Spider to ourselves again. Took Chevy to one of our favorite southseas beaches. Has sand on one shore and heavy drift on the ocean side behind us.
