| Our Beautiful Grandaughters |
June18th Our kids and grandkids joined us for dinner on OA last night. We needed our Family Fix.
At 6am we leave BYC in North Vancouver and are
not sure of the weather conditions on the way going north but plot in Squirrel
Cove as our destination.
We pass all the familiar anchor spots in coves and marinas on our starboard Gibsons Sechelt, Buccaneer Bay, Secret Cove, Pender Harbour, Vananda, Powell River and Lund.
The weather holds good and we have by luck picked a flood tide that gives us a knot or two. In a seven and half knot boat it is like going with afterburners on, well not really but it is a help. It is a long trip for Chevy as we do not arrive till 5 pm at Squirrel. She’s already in the “Ravens” even before the skiff is free from host cables. She remembers the pee island from last year. She takes her time and sniffs ever plant, seal and bird dropping. I do not rush her as it is her great enjoyment to saviour every whiff.
In time she is back in the dingy and takes her station at the bow. She turns her head to me and as if to say “On Jeeves back to my yacht do not spare the horses”. It’s time for gravy and kibble’s.
