| BC Ferry at Cape Calvert |
We
see a sail boat heading to the same destination but the vessel continues past
the bay, so we get it all to ourselves, with a small sigh of relief. Gone are
the rope traps that fouled the passage to a safe anchorage deep in the
bay.
We launch the “Ravens” as the
priority for shore duty is important for are little girl (rat dog). Penny
encourages us to go fishing. So Chevy
and I get organized and off we go so she can have some space. I had varnished
up my mahogany wood fish reals (PEEZ) and polished the chosen lures to go kill
me a fish maybe. I am not very good at dispatching a live creature but it is
food for the pot as our old and departed friend Brian Stanhope used to say.
This is the same location that I latched on to a very large halibut last year
and we decided that he or she was not to be dinner.

We were worried about the
weather for a time as the weather channel had been forecasting high winds.
The bay was a perfect hidey hole. Penny & Chevy toured the bay in the kayak and were followed by mom seal and her put, inches a way.
The weather front must have gone over us, so we spent two nights here enjoying the calm.
